Historic Carriage House Receives Preservation Award

Alina served as the Senior Project Architect on the restoration and conversion of the late 1800’s Carriage House while working with BIA, which was recently awarded the Lucy B. Moses Preservation award. The building went through extensive restoration on the interior and the exterior, including the restoration of the sidewalk with new bluestone, which once again boasts the historic coal shoot covers. The building has been a fixture in the community for many years, most recently, prior to its restoration, being used as a residence and an art studio for a local artist and sculptor. After their passing, the building was sold to a long-time Brooklyn resident who embraced the restoration project with enthusiasm and passion. The building continues its life as a Library Archive for Asia Art in America.

The Lucy B. Moses Preservation Award is one of the highest honors for landmark building conservancy.
