Westport Split Level Revival

Not all outdated homes need to end up in a landfill; giving an old home a little extra love can result in spaces that are functional for the modern age. A once small, divided living and kitchen space was united into a large living, dining, and kitchen area with high ceilings flooded with natural light from all sides of the home. The exterior was also given a facelift, with new Hardie siding and new energy-efficient windows and insulation. The landscape was completely transformed to include several gathering areas and a small garden, designed to optimize the function of each area based on the solar movement around the property. The home was converted to be fully electric with future plans to be solar-powered.
